The Zamfara Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has handed over ₦630,750, recovered from the scene of a fatal road accident, to Ibrahim Ahmad Karakkai, a relative of one of the victims.
The accident, attributed to wrongful overtaking and speeding, occurred on November 21, 2024, at Tazame village along the Gusau-Funtua road.
In a statement on Sunday, the Sector Head of Public Education, Aliyu Kankara, stated that the FRSC Rescue Team responded promptly to the distress call, evacuating the injured to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.
“It involved a white bus with registration number ABJ758XB and a Volkswagen Golf without registration plates,” he said.
“Among the items recovered at the scene were three Tecno keypad phones, two Android smartphones, and cash amounting to N630,750, which were subsequently handed over to the victims’ relative.”
The Zamfara Sector Commander, CC Tijjani Iliyasu, has urged drivers to prioritize road safety by strictly adhering to traffic regulations. He emphasized the importance of avoiding overspeeding, overloading, and dangerous overtaking to prevent accidents and ensure safer roads.
