Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), during a patrol along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway in Abeokuta, Ogun State, successfully intervened and rescued a female passenger who was being abducted by a commercial motorcyclist named Dauda Usman.

According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the FRSC in Ogun State, the incident took place at approximately 3 pm on Sunday.

“The FRSC team was informed by some commercial motorcyclists that a woman was being taken away by a suspected motorcyclist due to the alarm raised by the woman on the bike.

“The patrol team quickly intervened and got the motorcyclist arrested. On interrogation, the passenger told the FRSC patrol leader that the motorcyclist refused to stop after reaching their agreed destination within Immigration Centre, Abeokuta.”

Okpe said the motorcyclist proceeded to another destination, prompting the woman to call for help, adding that some motorcyclists stationed at the Laderin Estate junction followed them immediately.

“The patrol team, with the help of other motorcyclists, was able to rescue the woman and handed her and the suspect to the Special Weapons and Tactics Team.”
