Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved two days off per week for officers on Grade Levels 01-14, while those on Grade Levels 15-17 will continue with one day off per week.

This decision was announced in a statement by the State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, who explained that the initiative is intended to alleviate the challenges faced by workers, particularly in commuting to work. The policy aims to provide significant relief while boosting service delivery by creating a more motivated and energized workforce.

Onasanya emphasized Governor Abiodun’s commitment to workers’ welfare and urged accounting officers to immediately implement the new policy in all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). He stressed the importance of ensuring the scheduling of the day-off system in a manner that does not compromise service delivery.

The governor had initially introduced a one-day-off policy for all grade levels in July 2023. This recent extension to two days for Grade Levels 01-14 is designed to further ease financial pressures on workers and enhance productivity.
