The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revoked the allocation of 568 plots of land in the nation’s capital, Abuja, due to unpaid Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) fees.
In a public notice, the FCT Administration stated that the allottees of the land in Maitama II, Cadastral Zone A10, Abuja, failed to settle their C of O bills after the expiration of the grace period granted by the minister.
The notice explained that the allocation of the land plots has been withdrawn “pursuant to the provisions of Section 28 of the Land Use Act of 1978 for contravention of the terms of the grant, which required title/interest holders to pay all fees.” However, the public was informed that allottees or title holders who complete their payments by January 15, 2025, will not be affected by this action.
