‘Give government more time to meet demands’, Senate tells protesters

111

The Senate has urged protesters to allow the Federal Government more time for ongoing reforms to achieve the desired outcomes and address their demands.

This appeal followed a brief closed-door session on Wednesday that lasted less than two hours.

Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, emphasized that the government has already begun addressing the protesters’ demands, including minimum wage, student loans, and the sale of crude oil refineries.

He assured that the Senate is committed to legislating on all matters that will bring relief to Nigerians.
