God promoted me through PDP – Gov Fubara

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, stated on Sunday that his life’s achievements and the subsequent progress in his political career were divinely orchestrated by God.

Governor Fubara emphasized that his initial promotion came from God, who influenced the leaders and members of his political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to unite in endorsing him as their gubernatorial candidate, leading to his victory in the election.

Fubara made these remarks during the 2024 Port Harcourt Holy Ghost Rally organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday.

The event centered around the theme, “Promotion for a purpose,” a concept the governor described as a personal affirmation, resonating with his own journey.

“I was promoted by God first, through my party and the leaders. So, promotion comes from God and God alone.

“Let me take the theme of the rally to be a personal gift from RCCG because the theme is not different from my story.

“I have a thanksgiving in my place where I will return this wonderful success in thanksgiving to the only person (God) who will make it permanent and forever.”

He extended heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, for his affection towards Rivers State, evident in the choice of Port Harcourt for the special Holy Ghost Rally and the tradition of offering blessings at the start of each year.

The governor pledged ongoing government support to ensure the success of the rally in the state and encouraged the RCCG to continue praying for his administration as it works toward fulfilling its governance objectives.

Subsequently, Governor Fubara proceeded to Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in his hometown of Opobo in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, where he attended a service to express gratitude for his victory at the Supreme Court and to celebrate his 49th birthday anniversary.
