The Gombe State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has dismissed the petition brought by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his Deputy, Manassah Daniel, both of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The ADC contested the declaration and election of Yahaya, citing alleged discrepancies in the arrangement of names on the certificates of his deputy, which lacked accompanying affidavits. They argued that this rendered their ticket invalid.
The court dismissed the case, stating it was a pre-election issue, and affirmed that the deputy met the minimum certificate requirement to contest.
Additionally, the ADC claimed cases of corrupt practices and extensive vote buying, but the Tribunal dismissed these due to insufficient evidence.
Further judgments are pending.
