Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has pledged compensation for the victims of the Abeokuta gas explosion and has ordered an integrity test on buildings impacted by the incident.
One person lost their life in the explosion, which occurred on Saturday. The following day, Governor Abiodun visited the site to personally assess the damage caused by the explosion.
He was joined by members of the Ogun State Executive Council, the state’s police commissioner, representatives from the state emergency management agency, and other first responders.
Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude to the residents for their calm and understanding in the aftermath of the incident. He also mentioned that his administration is developing a policy framework to regulate the transportation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) within the state.
