The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication.

Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, announced the appointment in Ibadan on Thursday, noting that it takes immediate effect, while more members of the campaign team are expected to be unveiled soon.

The governor described Ehilebo’s background as a communication strategist and lawyer as a valuable addition to the campaign, saying his experience would help strengthen the APM’s message of resetting Nigeria and pursuing victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Makinde also called on Nigerians to support the APM, describing the 2027 poll as a crucial opportunity to change the country’s direction and replace what he termed the failed leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde affirmed.

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, Makinde formally joined the presidential race for 2027 under an alliance involving the Peoples Democratic Party and APM.

In his declaration speech delivered at a rally held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, and witnessed by a mammoth crowd, Makinde said, “Today, I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP/APM alliance.”
