Gov Oborevwori receives board of enquiry investigating murder of military personnel

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has expressed his approval of the establishment of a board of inquiry by the military. He continues to convey his sorrow and remorse regarding the tragic loss of 17 Nigerian Army officers and soldiers in the Okuama community of the state.

He hosted the chairman and members of the board appointed by the Defence Headquarters at the Delta State Government House Annex in Warri last Friday.

The governor stressed the necessity for a comprehensive investigation into the matter. He outlined the state’s management of the situation, pledging full government support to aid the board in its task.

He emphasized the importance of conducting a transparent investigation to identify the true perpetrators of the crime, thus preventing further suffering for innocent citizens.

In response, the board’s chairman, Air Vice Marshal David Ajayi, stated their purpose in the state was to probe the regrettable incident at Okuama. He appealed to the governor for assistance in ensuring that relevant stakeholders are summoned to provide insight into the crisis’s origins.
