Gov Okowa presents N71bn supplementary budget to Assembly

Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State, has delivered a N71 billion supplementary appropriation bill to the state House of Assembly on Tuesday for approval by the legislature.

The Deputy Speaker, Ochor Ochor, who presided over the session, read the supplementary appropriation bill, which included N5.6 billion for recurring expenses and N65.5 billion for capital expenditures for 2023.

According to Okowa’s letter, some fiscal receipts have increased both actually and forecasted.

The governor described the bill vital for appropriation to fund ongoing projects, pay for some important government plans and activities.

Okowa said he would appreciate if the bill was given immediate necessary approval.
