The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged the youth in Lagos to lend their support to his initiatives for the development of the state’s residents.
Sanwo-Olu conveyed this appeal in his New Year Message to the youth in Badagry, concluding the Greater Lagos Fiesta activities in the town.
According to report, the three-day fiesta saw a substantial turnout of youths from the old Badagry division.
Represented by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Layode, Sanwo-Olu encouraged the residents of Badagry to collaborate with his administration by endorsing his developmental initiatives.
He assured the people of Badagry that he would uphold his campaign commitments and urged the youth to have confidence in his governance while maintaining lawfulness.
The Chairman, Badagry Local Government Area, Mr Olusegun Onilude, said the fiesta brought both the old and the young together to enjoy themselves.
“Since Friday, people have been coming here in thousands to enjoy themselves.
“This is impressive and encouraging. All residents of Badagry division are coming to Badagry Grammar School here to enjoy themselves and relax.
“This has brought joy to all households in Badagry unlike before when cultists and bad boys used to fight one another at end-of-the-year carnival.
“We thank Mr Governor for not letting the dream die. He should continue the fiesta and next year’s should be bigger,” the council chairman said.
