The 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa is collaborating with the Kaduna State government on a project designed to enhance service delivery in the education sector, known as the African Peace Scholarship Project.
During a briefing with journalists at the Kaduna State Government House following a meeting with Governor Uba Sani, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, Project Director for the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa and Peace Ambassador Agency, stated that this partnership, facilitated by Dr. Fauziya Buhari, the governor’s Special Adviser on the FeedMe Program, aims to support the state government’s initiatives.
Amb. Amafibe commended Governor Sani’s administration for promoting school attendance among children in the state, noting that this initiative could help students unlock a brighter future.
“I can tell you that his Excellency, Sen Uba Sani Executive Governor of Kaduna State, is doing so much in the education sector that many people don’t know about. He runs free education from primary to secondary school. Additionally, the state government also runs a free feeding program for students as a way of encouraging them to acquire education.
“Education is the key to any great nation, with education, you can unlock opportunities and create great success, that is why we are here to add value to what the state government is doing”, he noted.
The partnership will include inspections of facilities and the welfare of students in Kaduna State.
Amb. Amafibe encouraged other state governments to follow Kaduna’s example in establishing a legacy of effective performance in the education sector.
During the visit, Governor Uba Sani was presented with a plaque and certificate from the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa 2024, recognizing his contributions to peacebuilding and education in the state.
