Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has warned against attempts to establish a Sharia Court in the state, stating such actions lack legal backing.
In a statement on Tuesday, Abiodun clarified that only courts established under the Nigerian Constitution, such as Magistrates’ and High Courts, are recognised in the state.
He emphasised that Sharia law is not part of Ogun’s legal framework and directed those involved in the unauthorised court to disband immediately.
The public has been urged to report any related activities to the authorities.
