The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has signed the ₦1.054 trillion 2025 State Appropriation Bill into law.

The signing ceremony was held at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and attended by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, principal House officers, the Deputy Governor, and members of the State Executive Council.

After receiving the finalised copies of the bill, Governor Abiodun announced forthcoming developments, including a partnership agreement for the Olokola Deep Sea Port and plans to enhance the State’s infrastructure through further collaboration with private firms.

Infrastructure and Economic Growth

The Governor stated:
“In the coming months, we will finalise agreements with potential partners to advance our port development. The Olokola Port project is back on track.”

He also outlined the administration’s priorities for the next year, including renewable energy, agriculture—especially animal husbandry for beef and pork production—and infrastructure improvements across local councils.

“We will expand road projects like the Ijebu-Ode-Epe, Sagamu-Abeokuta, and Atan-Lusada-Agbara roads to boost socio-economic activities and increase internally generated revenue,” Abiodun added.

Support Amid National Challenges

Acknowledging the economic challenges caused by federal reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abiodun assured residents of ongoing palliative measures to ease the burden.

“Despite the difficulties, we are optimistic about the future. These tough policies are necessary for creating a solvent nation,” he remarked.

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to education, healthcare, and agriculture, with a focus on food self-sufficiency through the “grow what you eat, eat what you grow” policy.
