Gunmen abduct two sisters, demand N30m ransom in Abuja

In the ongoing effort to rescue the pupils and teachers in Ekiti State, two teenage sisters were abducted from the Guita community in Chikakore, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by gunmen believed to be bandits.

The incident occurred eight days following a demonstration by members of Chikakore village outside the office of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

They cited the poor condition of the main route connecting their community as a contributing factor to the area’s high rate of kidnappings.

Despite the military and police presence in the vicinity, the kidnappers returned around 11:25 p.m. on Sunday. The six kidnappers seized two girls, aged 16 and 14, leading them through the forests and hills in the area.

It has been reported that the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N30 million for the release of their captives.
