Gunmen suspected of being herdsmen have killed seven people in Plateau state’s Jos South Local Government Area.
The killing comes less than 24 hours after 18 other people were killed in a clash between bandits and vigilantes in the state’s Wase Council Area.
Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, confirmed the latest killings in Jos South LGA on Monday.
“Seven people have been confirmed dead at Danda chugwi community following an attack by Fulani Militias,” Tengwong said.
“The attack happened on Sunday, 31/07/2022 at around 9:00pm.
“Others who sustain serious gun injuries have been taken to Vom Christian hospital for immediate medical attention.”
The authorities of security agencies in the state including the police and the military special Taskforce in charge of peace maintenance were yet to issue any public statement regarding the killings as of the time of filing this report.
