Gunmen believed to be bandits have abducted the wife of the paramount ruler of Ninzo chiefdom, Alhaji Umar Musa, in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State.
Earlier, the bandits had kidnapped the paramount ruler and his wife from their palace in Fadan-Ninzo on Wednesday night, along with other residents of the community.
According to an eyewitness, the bandits stormed the palace and began firing indiscriminately before seizing the traditional ruler and his wife.
Meanwhile, ASP Mansir Hassan, the Spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, informed Channels Television that the kidnapped traditional ruler later managed to escape from the bandits’ custody after they abandoned him due to the heavy pressure exerted by police operatives, who promptly responded to the distress call.
He further stated that police operatives are currently pursuing the bandits to rescue the traditional ruler’s wife and other hostages still in their captivity.
