Gunmen kill three, kidnap 22 in Kaduna communities
Three farmers were reportedly killed by gunmen in different areas within Kaduna State’s Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area.
According to Ishaq Kasai, Chairman of the Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union, the terrorists kidnapped 22 persons and stole motorcycles during the attack that took place on Saturday.
He claimed that during the attacks, the terrorists also looted shops.
Kasai said, “Terrorists continue to attack locals particularly farmers in different communities in Birnin-Gwari LGA of Kaduna State.
“On Saturday, September 24, 2022 around 7:30 pm, the terrorists invaded Hayin Gada of Damari Community in Kazage Ward, killed two locals (namely; Sanusi Zubairu and Kabiru Zubairu) and kidnapped 12 persons. They also looted shops in the same community during the attack.
The same Saturday, another group of terrorists attacked a FARM CENTRE near Birnin-Gwari/Kaduna Road, where they abducted six people and murdered one. They also took three motorcycles (Bajaj models) from farmers in the Kamfanin Doka area and abducted four more people in Dajin JANGALI.
“BEPU observes with serious concern the way the terrorists continue to invade various communities and loot goods at shops unchallenged.
“The union will never relent in its continuous call on relevant authorities to intensify effort towards combating terrorist activities in Birnin-Gwari LGA especially at this early crop harvesting period.”
When contacted, Mohammed Jalige, the state Command’s Public Relations Officer, did not take his call nor reply to text messages sent to him.
