Gunmen killed three people on Saturday night in an attack on the Akpoha community in the Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The assailants arrived on two motorcycles armed with sophisticated weapons and began shooting indiscriminately, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.

Several other residents were injured during the assault.
Ebonyi State Police Command spokesperson Joshua Ukandu told Channels Television on Sunday that operatives are actively pursuing the attackers. He assured that those responsible for what he termed a heinous act would be brought to justice.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to a morgue, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the attack.
