The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that 36,297 Nigerian pilgrims have been successfully returned home after completing the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
This figure represents more than 86 percent of the total 41,668 pilgrims who participated in the pilgrimage, with the repatriation process now approaching completion.
Providing an update, NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, stated that the return journeys have been facilitated through 88 separate flights.
“Umza flight UY3540, which departed Jeddah to Kaduna @ 01:46hrs with 476 Kaduna Pilgrims and 8 Officials, make the Total Airlift = 36,297. Total Flights = 88,” Usman stated.
He added that, at the current pace, it won’t be long before every Nigerian pilgrim is safely back from the Holy Land.
For many, the experience was smooth and reassuring. Alhaji Abba Sani Musa, one of the returning pilgrims from Kano, had high praise for how things were handled by the commission.
“I must commend the leadership of the Hajj Commission for taking good care of us in Saudi Arabia both in welfare, medicare, transportation and even our stay in Medina was exceptional,” he said.
