Hardship: Nigerians must unite beyond tribe, religion and political affiliations – Peter Obi

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last election, Mr Peter Obi has said that the prevailing hardship gripping the nation demands that Nigerians set aside all biases and collaborate to find solutions to the numerous challenges facing the country.

In a series of tweets expressing gratitude for being named Politician of the Year by Leadership Newspapers Group Limited, Mr. Obi underscored the urgent need for all Nigerians to unite in salvaging the nation from further decline, considering its significant regression.

While acknowledging the recognition of his political contributions by many Nigerians, Mr. Obi disclosed the difficulty he faces in finding peace at night, knowing that millions of Nigerian families are uncertain about their next meal.

Furthermore, he lamented the distress of going to bed while aware that fellow Nigerians might be experiencing terror attacks due to the pervasive insecurity plaguing the country.

In the light of this, he urged Nigerians to “unite, above tribe, religion, and political party affiliation, rescue our nation free from the shackles of leadership failure and bad governance”, adding that “this generation of Nigerians has a sacred duty to make Nigeria a nation Nigerians can be proud of”.

“This is no time to apportion blames or to hunt for culprits. It is the hour of collective responsibility for national salvation. I dedicate this award to every Nigerian, who not only believes in good governance, but is making sacrifices to ensure that we get it right in our nation.

“I assure us all that our labours for the New Nigeria will not be in vain because it is a land of POssibilities, a place of prosperity, peace and happiness for all our people,” the LP flagbearer buttredded.
