Armed security personnel have put up roadblocks on roads leading to the presidential election petition court in Abuja.
The court will rule on three petitions filed by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu.
Two petitions were filed by the main opposition presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the LP. Atiku came second in the election, while Obi came third.
According to reports, there are reportedly three checkpoints between the Ministry of Finance Headquarters and the court entrance.
At the entrance gate, lawyers, party representatives, staff, and journalists had to be accredited and their names confirmed before being allowed in.
Following that, individuals cleared at the entrance underwent searches. Meanwhile, security personnel at the courthouse were observed inspecting key areas for potential explosive devices and hazardous weaponry.
At the moment, no one is allowed to access the courtroom.
