Hoodlums Kidnap ABSU Deputy Vice Chancellor

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University, Uturu, Professor Godwin Emezue, was kidnapped by criminals in Umuekwu Amachara, Umuahia South Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement, ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Police Command, revealed that the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) was with his wife, buying fuel at a petrol station when he was abducted.

Hoodlums seized the victim’s wife’s ATM card, forcibly took the Deputy Vice-Chancellor into a Lexus SUV, and drove away with him.

The PPRO stated that the Command is mobilizing resources, including intelligence and technical support, to investigate the crime and ensure the safe rescue of the victim.

The police have advised residents of Abia State to stay calm and carry on with their lawful activities while staying vigilant and security-conscious.

The Command also appealed for the public’s cooperation, emphasizing the importance of sharing any valuable information that could assist in these specific circumstances and contribute to overall improved security in the state.
