Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nigeria, has said that he loves reggae music because of the songs of the late Jamaican legend, Bob Marley.

El-Rufai shared on Sunday morning via his handle on X (formerly Twitter).

He tweeted, “Bob Marley of the blessed memory is one of the most talented musicians of all time. My love for reggae music is connected with his songs and music.”

He also said, “Who The Cap Fit – Bob Marley & The Wailers is one of my favorites from the 1970s. Enjoy your Sunday with the song and lyrics that are timeless.”

El-Rufai also shared some of the lyrics from the song, which are as follows: “Man to man is so unjust, children. Ya don’t know who to trust. Your worst enemy could be your best friend. And your best friend, your worst enemy.”

The former Kaduna governor was one of the 48 ministerial nominees submitted to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu, but his confirmation was halted in the Upper Chamber.

Reports have it that, after his (El-Rufai) presentation, Senator Sunday Karimi, the lawmaker representing Kogi West, mentioned that a petition had been filed against the former governor regarding the security situation in Southern Kaduna

The Senate confirmed the appointments of 45 of the ministerial nominees, but rejected the nominations of Nasir El-Rufai, former deputy governor of Taraba State, Senator Abubakar Danladi, and Stella Okotete from Delta State, citing security concerns.
