How pregnant woman about to be operated on gave birth after shouting Wike’s name thrice – Rivers Dep Speaker

The Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Ehie Ogerenye Edison, has claimed a pregnant woman who had difficulty giving birth and prepared for a cesarean section immediately gave birth at the mention of Governor Nyesom Wike’s name.

Edison made this claim on Wednesday when Wike visited his constituency in Ahoada.

He said, “As at yesterday night, there was a lady on (in) labour. The lady tried, (but) she couldn’t put to bed. They had already prepared the theatre for her to be operated on this morning.”

The Deputy Speaker said the pregnant woman heard that the governor was visiting Ahoada as nurses discussed. She was delivered of a baby boy after praying in the name of Wike.

“At the hearing of your name, the woman shouted: ‘the God of Nyesom Wike, let me deliver safely’. The God of Nyesom Wike, let me deliver safely’,” Edison Said.

He added, “Your excellency, three times the woman mentioned your name and she delivered a bouncing baby boy. Praise ye the Lord! Your excellency, that was your name. They came this morning and said they want to name the boy in your name. I said no, don’t do that until I hear a confirmation from your excellency.”
