‘I am honoured to continue leading,’ Rasheed Bolarinwa says as ACAMB elects new Excos, returns him as President

Members of the Association of Corporate and Marketing Communication Professionals in Nigerian Banks (ACAMB) on Wednesday (today) elected new officials into all its elective positions.

The election which held after the 2022/2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association at the Bankers House in Victoria Island, Lagos comes after the successful completion of the two-year tenure and dissolution of the Rasheed Bolarinwa led-Excos.

NewsClick Nigeria reports that the immediate past executives were elected on January 19, 2022.

After sorting and collation, the Head, Corporate Communications of Polaris Bank Ltd., Mr Rasheed Bolarinwa was announced re-elected as President of ACAMB.

In his acceptance speech, Bolarinwa assured members, fellow executives and the banking public at large that his commitment to excellence, growth and professionalism remains unwavering even as he leads the ACAMB on another two-year journey.

“I stand before you today with profound gratitude and a deep sense of honour as I accept the privilege of serving once again as your President. The trust and confidence you have placed in me through your votes have humbled me, and I am truly honoured to continue leading this distinguished association,” Bolarinwa’s acceptance speech reads in part.

The ACAMB boss explained that some of the modest achievements of the past 24 months which includes hosting first-of-its-kind Stakeholder Conferences, Mentoring/Coaching Cohorts, Amplifying Relationships and Industry Relevance, Visibility for ACAMB, Digital Presence, Knowledge Sharing Sessions, Social Engagements, Advocacy Documentary, Building Consensus with DMBs, Master Classes for membership fastract into NIPR, ARCON, NIMN will be consolidated upon while exploring new frontiers.

“Over the past 24 months, we have achieved some significant milestones together, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the realm of corporate and marketing communications in the banking sector. Together, we have weathered challenges and embraced opportunities, further solidifying ACAMB’s position and relevance as a beacon of best practices in the banking industry.

“As we embark on this new term, my commitment to each and every member remains unwavering. Working with the new Exco, we’ll continue to strive for excellence, explore new avenues for growth, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism. ACAMB will be a platform where ideas flourish, relationships strengthen, and the collective wisdom of our diverse membership (from our elders, past Presidents, members and associates), propels us forward.”

Other executives elected alongside Bolarinwa include: Mr. Oze Kalu, 1st Vice President (FirstBank); Ms. Onipede Tolulope, 2nd Vice President (Guaranteed Trust Bank, GTB); Mr. Sipe Babajide, General Secretary (EcoBank); Ikechukwu Iheagwam, Assistant General Secretary (Access Bank); Mrs. Halima Ishaq, Financial Secretary (Jaiz Bank); Mrs. Morolake Philip-Ladipo, Treasurer (Wema Bank); Mr. Omede Odekina, Publicity Secretary (United Bank for Africa UBA) and Mrs. Utulu Ozena, Social Secretary (Heritage Bank).

ACAMB was established in 1996. It is the umbrella body for reputation managers and public relation professionals in the Nigerian banking sector. ACAMB was founded as a response to the then negative perception of the banking industry. The conviction of the founding fathers of the association was that the challenge of favorably positioning the social and economic contributions of the banking sector to the national economy, could only be achieved through collective collaboration of all Banks.
