I owe you my freedom and sanity, Seun Kuti informs legal team

Afrobeat star, Seun Kuti, has taken to social media to thank his legal team for securing his release from jail.

Seun was taken into custody on May 14th at the State Criminal Investigation Department, widely known as Panti, in Lagos State, for an alleged attack on a police officer.

The Afrobeat crooner finally regained freedom a couple of hours ago and has taken to his Instagram page to thank his legal team for helping secure his bail.

His post read; ”Last but not least, the legal team. Uncle Femi Falana, SAN, Uncle Olumide Fisika, SAN, Uncle Kunle Adegoke, SAN, Barrister Ogunlana, Ade Ademiluyi; and everyone on the team, I owe you my freedom and my sanity. Let’s go.”

Seun’s release was confirmed by his attorney, Olumide-Fusika, SAN on Tuesday night.

His lawyer also confirmed that the singer will be at the Yaba Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday, for the proceedings that were adjourned today due to the magistrate’s absence.

Meanwhile, the internationally recognised African star had earlier appreciated friends and family who stood by him during his trying times. Seun also shared a post on his IG page writing;

”I want to say a profound thanks to everyone who showed me all this love. All my friends that showed up! Thanks most especially to my beautiful wife @chef yeidikuti.”
