The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has redeployed Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi to the Delta State Police Command.
Adejobi, recently promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), was first appointed Force PRO in February 2022 in an acting capacity as a Chief Superintendent of Police before being confirmed by then IGP Usman Alkali.
Police authorities described his new posting as a strategic move, placing him at the helm of operations in one of Nigeria’s most sensitive commands. They stressed that the transfer is neither punitive nor controversial but part of routine progression and deployment of senior officers.
A senior source at Force Headquarters noted that Adejobi’s expertise in public communication, operational management, and community policing makes him well-suited for the Delta posting.
As DCP Operations in the state, he will oversee security coordination, combat violent crime, and strengthen police-community relations.
