I’ll not disappoint you as FCT Minister, Wike assures kinsmen

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, assured his fellow kinsmen that he would fulfill his duties as minister without disappointing them.

Wike made this pledge as the Special Guest of Honour during the 2024 Annual Cultural Day celebration of Ogbako Ikwerre Organisation Worldwide, the apex socio-cultural organization of the Ikwerre ethnic nationality.

Represented by Chukwuemeka Woke, his former Chief of Staff during his tenure as governor, Wike expressed gratitude to the Ikwerre people for their support throughout his eight-year tenure as governor.

He highlighted the benefits that the Ikwerre people received during his administration, including appointments and upgrades of traditional chieftaincy stools. Additionally, he credited the organization for contributing to President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the state during the 2023 elections.

The FCT Minister encouraged unity and political vigilance among the people of the Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality, urging other ethnic groups in the state to support President Tinubu’s agenda for the development of the state and the nation.

He said: “The minister has asked me to inform his people that he will not disappoint you in the performance of his function as FCT Minister.”

Also, the President of the organization, Eze Godspower Onuekwa, commended the leadership of Ikwerre, for using the culture to ensure peace and development in the state and country.
