Immigration promotes spokesman, 4,851 others

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has declared the promotion of 4,851 personnel and officers spanning diverse ranks and categories.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Public Relations Officer, Adedotun Aridegbe, was among those elevated to the position of Comptroller of Immigration.

The NIS Comptroller General, Mrs. Wura-Ola Adepoju, who disclosed the promotions, stated that the personnel had participated in the 2023 promotion exercise.

The comptroller general revealed that the promotion details were endorsed and communicated through a letter from the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board, chaired by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

She made the announcement at the service’s headquarters in Abuja while adorning the newly promoted Assistant Comptrollers General and Comptrollers of Immigration.

The promotion breakdown reveals that 18 Comptrollers of Immigration have been elevated to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers General of Immigration, and 51 Deputy Comptrollers have been promoted to the rank of Comptrollers of Immigration.

In addition, 43 Assistant Comptrollers of Immigration have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Comptrollers of Immigration, and 520 Chief Superintendents of Immigration have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller of Immigration.

The detailed breakdown also indicates that 634 Superintendents of Immigration have been advanced to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Immigration, while 426 Deputy Superintendents of Immigration have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Immigration.

Furthermore, 1,366 Assistant Superintendents of Immigration are now Deputy Superintendents, 804 Assistant Superintendents of Immigration have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Immigration, and over 900 Inspectors of Immigration have been elevated to Assistant Superintendents of Immigration.

Mrs. Adepoju expressed appreciation to Dr. Tunji-Ojo for his unwavering commitment to staff motivation. She urged the newly promoted officers to rededicate themselves to the service and exhibit unwavering loyalty to authorities.
