The attack on its delegates and staff during the Imo State Governorship primary held over the weekend has been condemned by the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
The state party secretariat in Owerri is where the alleged attack on the party officials took place.
This information was released in a statement on Monday by the party’s national publicity secretary, Tex Okechukwu.
Okechukwu, who was angry about the incident, said that some dishonest and cunning politicians are gradually turning the state’s political arena into a battleground.
“We wish to state clearly that the attacks on our members by somebody who did not even qualify or was granted a waiver to participate in the said governorship primary were totally unwarranted and unacceptable
We are saddened by the fact that our political landscape is gradually being turned into a battlefield by some unscrupulous and mischievous politicians,” the state read.
