Former Governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, who recently left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), paid a visit to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.
Ihedioha was seen at Governor Otti’s residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South, on Sunday. Governor Otti is currently the only Labour Party governor in both the South East and the entire country.
The visit, which was private, saw Ihedioha, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, warmly welcomed by his host.
According to a Government House source speaking to Vanguard, the two later entered into a closed-door meeting. While the specifics of their discussion were not revealed, analysts suggest it likely pertained to the political climate in Imo State and the potential for Ihedioha to join the Labour Party.
Ihedioha had resigned from the PDP last week, pointing to disputes surrounding the position of the National Secretary of the party as his reason for departure.
