At Eagle Square in Abuja, the location of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration, strict security checks are being conducted.

Many invited guests could be seen arriving in Eagle Square as early as 6:00 am on Monday to claim prime viewing spots before the inauguration ceremonies, which begin at 10:00 am.

A number of security personnel on duty, most of whom were recruited from the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the military, and representatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), among other agencies were spotted.

The majority of the roadways leading to the Federal Secretariat, where Eagle Square is located, have been blocked off, and dignitaries must walk a short distance before gaining access through a single gate.

As at the time of this report, most of the diplomatic community in the nation’s capital were already at the venue.

Traditional leaders, particularly those from western Nigeria, can be seen entering the location. Also seen were some clergy members attempting to enter the VIP pavilion.

Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, and Muhammadu Buhari, the outgoing president, have not yet arrived at the location of the inauguration.
