The Independent National Electoral Commission has begun the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters at its Local Government Area offices across Nigeria.
The exercise, which started on Monday, 15 December 2025, gives eligible voters the opportunity to verify their registration details following the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
In a statement on its official X handle on Monday, INEC urged voters who registered or updated their information during the CVR, which ended on 10 December 2025, to visit their designated LGA offices to ensure that their details have been correctly captured.
“The verification window allows you to identify and correct any errors ahead of the production of the final register,” the commission stated, adding that the next phase of the CVR will begin in January 2026.
During the PRV display, voters are encouraged to review their registration information and submit claims if they encounter issues such as missing names, incorrect details, or incomplete records.
Members of the public may also file objections if they have proof that a registered individual is deceased, underage, not a Nigerian citizen, or otherwise unqualified to vote in that area.
The Claims and Objections exercise will last one week, ending on Sunday, 21 December 2025. INEC urged all eligible voters to take part to help ensure the accuracy and credibility of the final voters’ register.
