1. Always keep the doors and gates locked.

Your doors and gates should always be locked and keyed. This will prevent intruders from entering your home.

2. Be cautious when giving strangers a ride.

Many people have been robbed by strangers whom they had given a ride. When offering to assist commuters who appear to be stranded, proceed with caution. Some are simply hunting for prey.

3. Exercise caution when making public calls.

Certain calls should not be made in the presence of strangers, especially when money is involved. You may inadvertently provide vital information to robbers.

4. Put in Burglaries.

It is recommended that burglaries be installed to prevent burglars from breaking into your home.

5. Never leave valuables in your car.

It is not advisable to leave any valuables in your car when parked in a public place. If you do, you may be inviting thugs to break into your car. If you must leave valuables in the car, make sure you secure them in the trunk.

6. Exercise caution when hiring domestic help.

The majority of kidnapping victims were kidnapped by their domestic workers. Some of these domestic helpers occasionally collaborate with robbers. So, before you hire any domestic help, conduct a thorough background and security check.

7. Avoid using ATMs after dark.

Armed robbers may pose as ATM users in order to rob bank customers late at night. Avoid going to the ATM late at night or early in the morning. It is hazardous. It is preferable to conduct all transactions during the day.

8. Never leave your car windows open at night.
