Recent upsurge in the number of kidnappings and violent clashes between nomadic herdsmen and rural farmers creating tension between the marauding herders and rural communities in the Southern part of the country has been described as unhealthy for peaceful co-existence.

A member of the Federal House of Representatives ,representing Ekiti Central Constituency 1, Hon. Sola Fatoba who made the remark while commissioning a N450 million worth projects he built and donated to his constituency in Ado Ekiti at the weekend, said the country is witnessing a trying moment in the area of insecurity as most Nigerians could not afford to close their two eyes while sleeping.

The Lawmaker  emphasized the need to evolve a safe environment that allows for effective business activities ,adding that the issue of insecurity should not be left alone to government but should be tackled by all Nigerians .

“What we are witnessing now regarding the level of insecurity is a phase that will soon pass away. But We should not leave our security in the hands of government. The criminals are not spirits. If you are waiting for government in Abuja or Ekiti to know what is happening in your domanins, then we will all fail in that regard of having protection of lives and property.

Speaking also  on State Police, Hon. Fatoba said it was time to create state police, recruit and train more officers to fill the gaps in how military and law enforcement deal with the pubic during peaceful civil disobedience and protests.

The wife of Ekiti State Governor ,Erelu Bisi Fayemi who commissioned a health center named after her gave kudos to the Lawmaker for given back to his constituency that made him .

The All Progressives Congress ,APC Chieftain said he named the hospital after the first lady because of her benevolence and numerous life changing programmes she has been embarked upon.

Reacting to the  incessant travelling for.medical attention by some Nigerians, Fatoba said it is high time the country built the health sector to a standard that could take care of all ailments, rather than trooping to other nations to build their economies at the expense of Nigeria .

“Nigerians have no business travelling abroad to seek good medical care if those saddled with the responsibility will do the needful, stressing that Nigeria is blessed with enormous resources to develop the health sector to the world class standard.

Some of the projects commissioned and donated by Hon Fatoba  to his constituency were Health Center,, ICT Centres in 10 secondary schools, instructional materials to schools, and three cancer screening equipment to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.
