Insecurity: Jigawa Government shuts schools

On Wednesday, the Jigawa State Government issued an order closing all schools in the state.

Dr. Lawan Yusuf, the state commissioner for education, confirmed the development to reporters in Dutse.

He said that the primary factor leading to the school’s closure was the issue of insecurity.

According to Yusuf, the state got an intelligence tip about impending attacks on schools nationwide, notably in border states, and ordered the closure of the schools on Wednesday morning.

He gave parents of boarding school students the go-ahead to pick up their kids.
