The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has warned candidates against paying individuals or online platforms claiming they can influence, fast-track or guarantee admission into tertiary institutions.

The board urged applicants to follow approved admission procedures and verify their admission status through official JAMB channels to avoid falling victim to fraud.

JAMB issued the warning in a notice on Monday, stressing that candidates did not need to pay third parties to secure or process their admission.

“Admission is not for sale! Don’t pay anyone to secure your admission,” the board stated.

It cautioned applicants against individuals and online platforms demanding money in exchange for promises to influence admission decisions.

“Beware of individuals or online platforms promising to influence, fast-track or guarantee your admission in exchange for money,” the notice read.

The board also advised candidates to protect their personal information and avoid sharing sensitive details with unauthorised persons.

“Follow the approved admission process, verify your status through official JAMB channels and never share your sensitive details with unauthorised persons,” it added.

The warning forms part of JAMB’s efforts to protect admission seekers from fraud and ensure that candidates use approved channels to confirm their admission status.
