Prominent American actor and television personality, Jamie Foxx, has opened up about his recent health challenge, which occurred several months ago.

The actor described the experience as a harrowing journey through difficult times.

Back in April, while filming “Back in Action” in Atlanta, Jamie Foxx was urgently taken to the hospital due to a medical complication. To maintain privacy, his family and close friends kept the specifics of his illness concealed, leading to widespread speculation about his well-being.

However, on Saturday, the actor took to his Instagram page to share a video where he spoke about the health issue for the first time since his recovery.

Foxx expressed that the illness caught him completely off guard, as it was something he had never expected to encounter. He also revealed that his decision to withhold the details of his condition was to spare his fans from undue worry during those critical moments.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show.

“I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through,” he said in the video.

He also credited his family for respecting his wishes and also supporting him during his recovery.

“My sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter Corinne Marie, saved my life. To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these,” he continued.

In addition, Jamie Foxx refuted certain rumors concerning his health, clarifying that he did not experience blindness or paralysis. Nevertheless, he emphasized that his recovery was an incredibly challenging and arduous journey.

The actor made his first public appearance after recuperating in July. During a boat ride in Chicago, he warmly greeted his fans with enthusiastic waves.
