The Amirul Hajj and head of Jigawa State’s delegation for the 2025 Hajj, His Royal Highness Dr. Najib Hussaini Adamu, the Emir of Kazaure, has announced that each pilgrim from the state will be refunded ₦42,996 as the balance from their Hadaya (animal sacrifice) payment.

Dr. Adamu made this known on Wednesday while presenting the 2025 Hajj report to Governor Umar Namadi at the Government House in Dutse.

He explained that the Board was able to recover more than ₦31 million as Hadaya refunds for 930 pilgrims who made their payments through the Board.

According to him, “The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, through direct negotiation with the Hadaya company, succeeded in recovering a total of ₦31,140,324.73, which will be shared among the pilgrims who paid for Hadaya through the Board.”

‎He said each of the 930 pilgrims will receive a refund of ₦42,996 as balance for his payment.

‎He further explained that the Board also returned the sum of ₦24,013,000.00 to the state government’s treasury revenue account as balance for operational funds allocated for the 2025 Hajj.

The Amirul Hajj said the delegation encountered two challenges during the 2025 Hajj exercise, including the absence of a permanent Hajj camp in the state and the unfortunate death of one pilgrim, late Hajiya Maimuna Bashir.

‎Governor Umar Namadi commended the Amirul Hajj and the state delegation for their accountability and transparency.

‎He assured that his administration would soon build a permanent Hajj camp to ensure smoother and more convenient Hajj operations.
