JUST IN: Adamu, Al-Makura, Sule arrive court ahead of Nasarawa ruling

139

A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu; Tanko Al-Makura, the former Governor of Nasarawa State; and the current governor of the state, Abdul Sule, are present in court to witness the proceedings at the Supreme Court on Friday.

Judgment for the Nasarawa state governorship is scheduled for today.

This governorship appeal is among the highly anticipated cases before the Supreme Court.

Earlier, the tribunal had removed Governor Abdullahi Sule from office and declared David Ombugadu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, as the winner of the March 18, 2023 election.

However, the appeal court reinstated Sule, asserting that the tribunal had erroneously relied on the evidence of eight PDP witnesses whose statements on oath were not submitted alongside the petition.

Notably, in all the cases decided thus far, no governor has been removed from office.

As of the time of filing this report, the justices have not yet arrived.
