JUST IN: Adegoke’s death: Court sentences Adedoyin to death by hanging

The popular hotel owner, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin has been found guilty by the Osun State High Court of the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a former master’s student at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife who died between November 5 and November 7, 2021, at the Hilton Honours Hotel in Ile-Ife.

According to Osun Chief Judge Adepele Ojo, who rendered her ruling on the case, Adegoke was killed while a guest at the hotel run by Adedoyin, according to the circumstantial evidence available to the court.

She claimed that since the weight of proof had been placed on him by the circumstantial evidence, Adedoyin’s decision to stay out of the witness box had not helped him.

Justice Ojo also said Adedoyin’s decision not to enter the witness box meant he agreed to the murder charge pressed against him by the prosecution, dismissing the alibi pleaded on his behalf by his counsel, who said the hotel owner was in Abuja for many days around the time the death of the late Adegoke occurred.
