A member of the House of Representatives, Dalyop Chollom, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), joining a growing number of lawmakers aligning with the party in recent weeks.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, read Chollom’s resignation letter from the Labour Party (LP), in which the representative for Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency cited political instability within his party as the reason for his decision.
Chollom’s defection comes just a week after four other House members left the LP for the APC.
