The Federal Government plans to bring charges against Binance Holdings Limited and its two senior executives, Tigran Gambaryan and the absconding Nadeem Anjarwalla, over accusations related to tax evasion.
The company and its two executives are scheduled to appear for arraignment before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
One of the defendants, Tigran Gambaryan, arrived at the court at 9:15 am on Thursday, while his colleague, Anjarwalla, was absent, reportedly on the run.
Although the Federal High Court is currently observing its Easter vacation and the trial judge is not designated as a vacation judge, the Chief Judge of the court, Justice John Tsoho, granted permission for Justice Nwite to handle the case due to its significant national interest.
The defendants are accused of five counts, including money laundering and operating specialized businesses in Nigeria without a license.
