A High Court in Port Harcourt has affirmed Edison Ehie as the legitimate speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Edison Ehie is among the four legislators aligned with Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Following the crisis at the House of Assembly, Ehie was suspended and ousted from his position as the House leader by fellow members.

The court has additionally prohibited Martin Amaewhule and Dumle Maol from presenting themselves or disrupting the functions of Rt. Hon. Edison Ogerenye Ehie as the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The court also cautioned against the utilization of thugs and police officers to unlawfully gain entry to the Assembly Complex.
