JUST IN: Cubana Chief Priest arrives court for arraignment for Naira abuse

A businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, commonly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has appeared at the Federal High Court in Lagos for his arraignment on charges of allegedly disrespecting the naira.

Cubana Chief Priest, who is currently seated in the dock, is facing three counts before Justice Kehinde Ogundare. The charges relate to the misuse of the nation’s currency, specifically involving spraying and handling the currency inappropriately at a social gathering, which contravenes the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

It is alleged that on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, he engaged in the act.

Cubana Chief Priest allegedly committed these offenses while participating in a social gathering, where he was reportedly observed tampering with N500 notes issued by the CBN.
