JUST IN: Ex CBN gov Emefiele in court, seeks modification of bail conditions

A former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, is presently in court requesting a modification of his bail terms.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, is currently in court facing six counts related to procurement fraud amounting to N1.2 billion.

This marks his initial court appearance without the presence of stern-looking armed security personnel escorting him to the courtroom.

Emefiele was released from Kuje Custodial Centre on December 23, 2023, 34 days after being granted bail by the judge.

He is now seeking a review of specific terms in his bail conditions. Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court is presently hearing arguments on the matter.
