JUST IN: JOHESU declares seven-day warning strike

The Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Health Care Professionals (JOHESU) have announced a seven-day warning strike starting at midnight tonight, Friday.

This action follows a fifteen-day notice issued to the Federal Government regarding their intent to strike.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the union’s national chairman, Kabiru Minjibir, outlined their demands, which include the immediate implementation of the consolidated health salary structure, payment of a 25% review of arrears from June to December 2023, an increase in retirement age for health workers, a tax waiver on healthcare workers’ allowances, and immediate payment of the COVID-19 inducement hazard allowance, among other requests.

JOHESU has called on all its members nationwide to comply with this directive.
