The son of the deceased Alaafin of Oyo, Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi, popularly known as D-Gov, has passed away.
He died in the early hours of Friday, a day before his 47th birthday, reportedly succumbing to diabetes at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Oyo prince, who had been ailing for some time, contested for the Oyo Federal Constituency on the Peoples Democratic Party platform in 2019. However, he faced defeat in the election, losing to his brother, Akeem Adeyemi, popularly known as Skimeh, who secured re-election for a second term.
In his first term, he was appointed by the state governor, Seyi Makinde, to serve as the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board.
